Door after door after door, guests will encounter interactive surprises and delight for hours. Over 200 animations and interactive content assures that no experience is ever the same. The project comes from our curiosity with doors and their greater meaning. What does a door mean to you? Does it evoke feelings of opportunity or anxiety? How did a door become such a metaphor for success, failure, opportunity, family, home, change, transition, and so many other moments of emotional connection? After all, it’s just a door. This project explores the greater meaning of a door and its ability to change our path in life when we have the courage to open it.

Pro Tip

Visit one of three identical doors and then give others a chance to enter an alternate universe! Or bypass the line and just watch from afar before continuing along the exhibit route.

The artists treat The DOOR like a portal - a portal to another dimension, a portal to another mind, a portal to another part of the world, etc. We imagine opening the door to anywhere! Open it and find the Milky Way, or the driver’s seat of a corn combine, or the cockpit of a jet, or the front seat of a dogsled ride. It’s endless. Our favorites are always things that put you in a perspective you have never seen before - from the back of a fridge or the back of someone’s mouth at the dentist office. Change your perspective, change your mind, open a door.
