Wings of Light

Audifax

Madison, WI

Lighting Designer: Ben Smith

Become part of the GLEAM experience and snap a pic! Influenced by patterns in nature, the projected whirling imagery cast upon the geometric wing design invites wonder and entices the viewer to ask themselves, “What makes MY wings?” As we observe the earth, we can see what makes everything fly, from the bird in the sky to a leaf in the wind, so how are we allowing nature to move us? By just enjoying this moment, you’ll find the answer.

Inside the Installation

Materials: wood, paint, projection

The designs painted on the wings are influenced by the patterns of nature. Just like in nature, the flowing visuals cast upon them will never have the same look twice, creating a completely unique experience in each moment.

Artist Bios

Audifax

Being born an artist and growing up in a family unable to afford art school, Audifax felt trapped in a world where work meant survival and understands the importance of shifting our perception of limitations. After selling her belongings, she went to the streets of Europe to paint and found her canvas -- walls. Self-taught in murals / street art, sculpture, and acrylic and oil painting, the bold photo-realistic and calligraffiti pieces connect to us on a level intended to awaken heart intelligence. Sharing her vision with the community including teens at schools, a detention center, and a shelter, and men in jail, her art is used to learn about ourselves and each other. Regardless of race, gender, age, or background, she strives to push people beyond what they think they’re capable of and understand that dreams are achievable by embracing who we are, and most importantly, taking positive action.
